Slate
Slates is a popular choice for roofing and walling because of its laminar nature makes it ease to shape and work. This is why slate has been used as a building stone for centuries. When slate is combined with other materials it enhances the qualities and attractivness of both. Slate is easily split into thin, durable sheets. Which makes it ideal as roofing materal, Motolith stone features and building stone

Slate is a fine grained, homogeneous metamorphic rock derived from an original shule-type sedimentary rock, composed of clay through low grade regional metamorphism.

The result is a foliatal rock in which the foliation may not correspond to the original sedimentary layering.
